2007 Cycle

From november 2006 to february 2007 the “Scrigno Musicale”, in the Vatican Radio Music programming, has reserved much time dedicated to the composer Dmitrij Šostakovič.

             Two cycles has been transmitted:

- “Omaggio a Šostakovič” by Valerij Voskobojnikov

- “Dopo Šostakovič” by Marilena Seminara

Marilena Seminara, has conducted the transmission “Dopo Šostakovič”, on-air every Thursday from January 4th to February 22nd 2007. The eight episodes cycle has shown the personality and the works of some of the most important pupils and disciples of the russian composer.

Boris Tiščenko, Alfred Schnittke, Galina Usvol’skaja and so on Sof’ja Gubajdulina, Edison Denisov, and Alexander Raskatov: These are some of the most rapresentative names of the russian music “Dopo Šostakovič”. Some of them, although they have never followed the Maestro lessons in a conservatoire classroom, they have been inevitably influenced. All of them have recognized him as an unreplaceable moral master.
